Le projet mosaHYc (moselle-saar-hydrogen-conversion) est le premier maillon de la chaîne qui connectera le Luxembourg au réseau européen H₂. Développé par CREOS Deutschland et NaTran (GRTgaz), en coopération avec Encevo (Luxembourg), il établit ~100 km de pipelines H₂ dans la Grande Région. Environ 70 km de pipelines de gaz existants sont convertis ; 30 km supplémentaires construits. Capacité : jusqu'à 120 000 m³/h. Les zones concernées : Völklingen (DE), Carling (FR), Bouzonville (FR), Perl (DE). mosaHYc est qualifié de "projet précurseur transfrontalier exemplaire" dans la Grande Région.

The mosaHYc project (moselle-saar-hydrogen-conversion) is the first link in the chain that will ultimately connect Luxembourg to the European H₂ network. Developed by CREOS Deutschland and NaTran (GRTgaz), in cooperation with Encevo (Luxembourg), it establishes ~100 km of H₂ pipelines in the Greater Region. About 70 km of existing gas pipelines converted; 30 km newly built. Capacity: up to 120,000 m³/h. À moins de 50 km de la frontière luxembourgeoise, une découverte potentiellement majeure est en cours de confirmation : le gisement d'hydrogène naturel (blanc) de Lorraine. Découvert par des chercheurs CNRS/Université de Lorraine, ce gisement à Folschviller (Moselle) est estimé à 46 Mt d'H₂ naturel. En janvier 2026, une plateforme de forage de 41 mètres a été érigée à Pontpierre pour tenter d'atteindre 4 000 m de profondeur. Si commercialement exploitable, l'H₂ blanc (estimé à €0,50–1/kg vs €4–8/kg pour le H₂ vert électrolytique) pourrait circuler via mosaHYc → HY4Link vers le Luxembourg — transformant la compétitivité industrielle de toute la Grande Région.

Less than 50 km from the Luxembourg border, a potentially major discovery is being confirmed: Lorraine's natural (white) hydrogen deposit. Discovered by CNRS/University of Lorraine researchers, this deposit at Folschviller (Moselle) is estimated at 46 Mt of natural H₂. In January 2026, a 41-metre drilling platform was erected at Pontpierre targeting 4,000 m depth. If commercially exploitable, white H₂ (estimated at €0.50–1/kg vs €4–8/kg for electrolytic green H₂) could flow via mosaHYc → HY4Link to Luxembourg — transforming the industrial competitiveness of the entire Greater Region.
